And another one, this one wrapped in hot pink thread, right next. Hosting 9 donated personal objects - While Making It Together.
As I was one of the first-morning presenters, a reduced and generous audience.
A fantastic panel: Katharine Herron (Westminster), Vivian Mitsogianni (RMIT) João Barbosa Sequeira (Lisbon), Claus Peder Pedersen (Aarhus), Arnaud Hendrickx (KU Leuven) and Dimitri Vangrunderbeek (KU Leuven LUCA), chaired by Johan Verbeke (KU Leuven).
I chose to, inspired by Hans Ulrich Obrist, interview WMIT. And, while I wished to learn from her: meaning, tacit knowledge, intentions and connections to the rest of my practice, I ended up being the interviewed one.
This methodology was well received and got encouraged to be explored further, as method for practice-based research.

PERFORMANCE
After an intimate series of making moments with each of my Brussels colleagues at a time, the current sculpture travels to London, where I invite every person part of Adapt-r program to participate in a social performative (and silent) act of wrapping. Together we will wrap the current, chair-sized sculpture, to its temporary home during AmbikaP3 exhibition: a table.

Still cutting, ring by ring, moment by moment
"Please, don't cut all of your hair". A tiny old lady came in just to give me her beauty advice. One Hair One Purpose. Keeps going. Week 3.
Another public daily setting - the window of a centric hairdressing salon. Transformation to a place where transformation, daily and lightly, is constantly happening.
It was the most naturally fitting performance experience of all.

While obsessively thoughtful of time, present in every work I produce, I keep miscalculating it. Or, maybe, Time is the one miscalculating me, or my hair, for this particular matter.
3 days and 15 hours after the performance One Hair One Purpose at Corner College, with much of that hair still up on its place, and during the very performance, I had to make a quick decision: cut it all off right here and now? Or continue the performance and the cutting further?
And, while cutting, twisting, ringing and tying up, while lights, cameras and pairs of eyes were expectant on me, the decision came: the slow act of transformation must go on.
And if this act of transformation comes to a daily environment?

Supernormal in Zürcher Hochschule der Kunst - ZHdK
What is normal?
How can we intervene in our daily rituals, and what do we get when we do it?
These are the questions from Supernormal - matter strategies for the daily intangible - part of a 5-day interdisciplinary workshop (Z-Module) organized by Monica Gaspar Mallol in Zurich's School of Arts and Design.
We invited a group of 14 students from interaction, product design, art practice and theory and music to observe the reality of their daily rituals in the school environment, and perform an action.
As a result, we had a horse climbing up and down Toni Areal's main entrance's stairs playing with its design and proportion, blockages in the main indoor stair (cascade) which revealed (unspoken) codes of conduct, a set of written questions about the act of going to the toilet around the public areas in the building, and a sound performance inviting to care and touch for the bathroom doors.

Can "material sex" inform architectural design process?
One of the thrown set of questions during the presentation of my practice (which is the subject of my current PhD research) during my exhibition/presentation at ARM - Architecture Research Moments - event in KU Leuven School of Architecture in Brussels.

Practice Research Symposium (PRS) in Barcelona
For my first PhD biannual presentation I invited to enter my intimate space, to share a historical view on my practice since my early architecture times.
With a double projection, textile bodies on table and scattered in the room, plus a large background timeline map full of postcard-sized images (which decided to fall two days prior to the event) I unfolded for the first time my practice dedicated to reaching down to emotions, with extended emphasis on the last two years of intimacy with materials.
My PhD is a practice-based research, which I follow as Adapt-r fellow (Art Design Architecture Practice Training Research) with university of KU Leuven Architecture. Adapt-r is a partnership project between seven European universities plus RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology).
